Policies

General Conference Rules
 

1. All youth must be recognized as well-mannered individuals at their home congregations.

2. All youth must be under the guidance of a parent or counselor. Counselors must be at least 21 years of age.

3. Males must be supervised by a male counselor; females must be supervised by a female counselor.

4. Dress code for males and females will be strictly enforced. Christians should demonstrate modest apparel.

5. Dress code for females: shorts, thigh-length skirts or dresses, revealing necklines, halter tops, extreme slits in skirts or dresses, and jeans are prohibited during the conference. Jeans may be worn during free time and Friday night “get acquainted” activities but must not be hip-huggers or reveal bare midriffs. Dress pants and pantsuits may be worn to sessions.

6. Dress code for males: shorts, tight pants, sagging pants, extreme hair designs, earrings, and jeans are prohibited during the conference. Jeans may be worn during free time and Friday night get acquainted activities but must not be sagging and must be worn with a belt. Shirt and tie is recommended for sessions.

7. All youth and counselors are expected to attend all sessions.

8. All attendees must wear their badges at chest level at all times. No exceptions. The badge will serve as the meal ticket.

9. Alcoholic beverages, abusive substances, cigarettes, or vulgarity is strictly prohibited.

10. Youth curfew is 11:00 p.m. There will be no wandering in the hallways after this hour.

11. Disorderly conduct (e.g., pillow fighting, profane language, playing on elevators, excessive noise, or running up and down stairs or hallways) is prohibited.

12. Any act of vandalism at the Hotel will be prosecuted, and vandals will be responsible for payment of any fines.

13. All youth must have permission from their counselor to leave the premises for any reason and must leave in groups of four.

14. Counselors must obtain the following information before granting permission to leave the premises: name, address, and telephone number of person being visited.

15. All youth must have the name of their counselor available at all times.

16. If a youth becomes ill during the conference, he or she should report to his or her counselor. The counselor will then take the necessary steps for the youth’s care and is advised to remain with the sick youth.

17. Violation of conference rules may result in expulsion from the conference, and violators will be sent home.

ATTENTION TO PARENTS AND CHURCH LEADERSHIP: in the event of expulsion, the attendee’s transportation arrangements will be at YOUR EXPENSE.

18. All youth must respect the rules and regulations of the Hotel and sponsoring congregations. Neither the conference nor its sponsoring congregations will be held responsible for any damages to hotel facilities.

19. Electronic devices (e.g., boom boxes, portable CD or DVD players, hand-held games, MP3 players, X-boxes, Play Stations, etc.) are prohibited.

20. Cell phones and beepers should be put on silent ring or vibrate during the conference.

21. Attendees should not use cell phones to text message during sessions.
